About The Position

The P&C Private Client Group (PCG/affluent lines) is a division of NFP Property & Casualty, specializing in insurance for affluent and wealthy individuals and families. This role involves managing multiple complex clients, maintaining strong relationships with clients and carriers, and ensuring policy compliance. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring at least 2-3 days per week in the Berkeley Heights, NJ office, with other days from home. The office presence is emphasized for fostering interaction, feedback, and team relationships crucial for strategic alignment.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work a hybrid schedule from our Berkeley Heights, NJ office.
  • When working from home, maintain a private workspace to secure company equipment and correspondence; maintain high-speed internet, be present and responsive online and minimize personal interruptions during your work shift.
  • Must have Personal Lines and High Net Worth/Private Client Group (PCG) client coverage experience.
  • P&C Account/Client Management experience with a retail brokerage or independent agency.
  • Familiarity with major markets, such as AIG, Chubb/ACE, PURE, BerkleyOne and Cincinnati. This includes knowledge of their products, appetite and experience with their quoting systems.
  • Must be able to read, analyze and reconcile financial reports.
  • Highly professional and self-motivated.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with clients, colleagues, and carriers and interact with a variety of people/personalities.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Possess technical expertise plus solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills – writes clearly; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numeric data effectively; able to read and interpret written information.
  • Self-confident to make sound independent decisions and demonstrate strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to handle situations in a calm, courteous and professional manner.
  • P&C Insurance License required upon hire.
  • HS Diploma or GED is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Ideally more than 10 years of Personal Lines industry and product line experience with extensive High Net Worth Account/Client Management experience.
  • In addition to familiarity with the major markets as mentioned above, a familiarity with carriers such as Travelers and Progressive as well as The National Flood Ins. Program.
  • Leadership and Supervisory experience including training or mentorship.
  • Experience with an agency management system/CRM is required. Fluency with Epic is a plus.
  • A bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • CIC, CPCU or other P&C designation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with complex and large clients.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on Property & Casualty and carrier products and services.
  • Maintain and manage solid relationships with clients and carrier sales representatives.
  • Negotiate with carriers for the best possible result.
  • Work with internal and external centers of influence to develop relationships.
  • Work with the Senior Leadership team to develop regional client deliverables.
  • Ensure deliverables are executed within the local office(s) and that they are complete, accurate and conform to NFP standards.
  • Make adjustments as necessary.
  • Attend renewal and strategy meetings with high-profile or difficult clients.
  • Manage team structure and monitor team workload to determine capacity to take on new clients.
