We are looking for a Avionics Test Engineer who combines superb technical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. You will work with a team of top-notch engineers and will collaborate with multiple spacecraft design, test, and operations teams. You should be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and relish the idea of solving problems that haven't been solved at scale before. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • 4+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems experience
  • Experience with general troubleshooting/debugging of hardware, or experience in computer architecture
  • Experience with analog, digital, and high-speed circuit design or test
  • Experience with schematic and layout ECAD tools
  • U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fields
  • Experience with general troubleshooting/debugging of hardware, or experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • Experience with RF measurement equipment, including: power meters, spectrum analyzers, vector signal generators, network analyzers, oscilloscopes
  • 3+ years of integration, testing and automation experience
  • Experience in Space Vehicle/Satellite Operations, Space Communications or related industry
  • 3+ years of hardware development, test lab, space/aerospace maintenance or hands-on engineering environment experience

Responsibilities

  • Work with key stakeholders across hardware and software development teams to define test strategy and requirements.
  • Define electrical component and subsystem test plans as needed to ensure robust electrical designs for space applications.
  • Support the planning and execution of design verification test, qualification, reliability, and production test campaigns for avionics subsystems.
  • Support the various aspects of the test engineering team through test system architecture, equipment selection, PCB design, harness design, test system build and integration, and test system commissioning and delivery to customers.
  • Lead test system design reviews, test plan reviews, test readiness reviews, and test results reviews.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including electrical engineering, RF engineering, mechanical engineering, software, reliability, manufacturing, program management, etc.
