About The Position

The Avionics Technician will support aircraft integrations and modifications and must be willing to travel for C-130 aircraft modification projects. This position is also responsible for troubleshooting and performing operational checks of modified equipment installations to ensure proper function. This is a full-time W-2 position intended to support a specific contract or project for a limited term. The anticipated duration of the assignment will be communicated at the time of hire and may change based on contract requirements, funding, workload, or business needs.

Requirements

  • At least five years of rotary-wing or fixed-wing aircraft experience.
  • Documented military aviation experience; U.S. Navy or U.S. Air Force training is preferred.
  • Experience with both rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft; C-130 experience is preferred.
  • Active U.S. passport and the ability to obtain and maintain any visas required for project travel are preferred.
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply technical manuals, technical orders, standard repairs, blueprints, wiring diagrams, sketches, and other related documentation.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately in written and verbal English.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, including the ability to prioritize work.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Professional conduct when interacting with coworkers, customers, contractors, and all levels of management.

Responsibilities

  • Remove or relocate electrical and electronic components and wiring to facilitate the installation of new electrical or electronic equipment.
  • Research, fabricate, modify, and install wire-harness assemblies in support of aging-aircraft inspection and refurbishment programs.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and installation procedures for navigation, communication, audio, transponder, GPS, and dual-communication systems.
  • Troubleshoot modified equipment installations and perform operational checks to verify proper function.
  • Perform or assist with duties associated with other trades as needed.
  • Complete required maintenance, quality, and project documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
