Requirements

  • Have an A&P Certificate
  • Familiar with and be able to read and understand company, manufacturer, and wire diagram manuals to include schematics
  • Possess basic avionics skills
  • Work history of being a self-starter, working well in a team environment, ability to effectively use aircraft manuals to troubleshoot, and repair aircraft avionics and electrical systems
  • Possess a valid, unrestricted state-issued driver’s license
  • Have a minimum toolbox
  • Problem solving and organizational skills are required
  • Work nights and holidays
  • Exercise good judgment in working with people in a team environment as well as in aircraft maintenance and safety
  • Experience/Training must meet one of the following: Graduated from an accredited avionics school Military training in avionics or electronics Associate degree or higher in electronics Eighteen months experience in the avionics industry A&P certification with previous avionics experience
  • This is a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position
  • Must hold a FCC GROL license. If a FCC GROL license is not held at time of employment it must be obtained within six months from hire date.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively troubleshoot all aircraft systems
  • In a timely manner, will be responsible for making critical decisions regarding aircraft safety
  • Responsible for proficiency in all documentation and paperwork, including parts paperwork
  • In a hangar environment, a technician will be performing avionics inspections, routine maintenance (e.g., FOQA downloads) and troubleshooting systems
  • In shop environment, a technician will be performing testing, troubleshooting and completing repairs on components. May also be required to work on aircraft systems
  • Other duties as assigned
