About The Position

Senior avionics technician performing installation, modifications, maintenance, software loading and troubleshooting on VIP aircraft. Provides mentoring and coaching to less experienced avionic technicians. This role involves advanced knowledge of avionics installation, modification, maintenance, and system integration across all aircraft systems and assigned work scope. The technician will accurately interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wire diagrams, system schematics, drawings, engineering orders and other documents. Responsibilities include modifying, repairing, replacing, or otherwise performing routine aircraft maintenance work in a specialized area of aircraft, properly utilizing and maintaining Avionics hand tools, and accurately documenting work performed as set forth by Greenpoint and customer maintenance programs daily using the standard format. Fabrication of wire bundles and assemblies per drawings and standard practices is also required, along with troubleshooting issues, replacing or repairing parts, testing, and making necessary adjustments. The role also includes operating ground support equipment (e.g., GPUs, Hi-Reach) and test equipment (e.g., Pitot Static Cart, Navigation test sets) as required. General clean-up of the work area, accurate clocking to jobs, and regular, prompt attendance are expected. Effective and appropriate conduct with coworkers is essential, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate in English (read, write, and verbally communicate).
  • Mathematical knowledge and ability to apply towards problem solving.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project)
  • Ability to work overtime, as required.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Able to comply with DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
  • Able to climb and work on step stools and/or ladders.
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance and ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Able to reach overhead.
  • Able to work in a non-dust-free environment.
  • Normal or corrected vision (required to perform exacting tasks).
  • Full range of motion with both hands.
  • Ability to work in a stooping, kneeling or standing position and in cramped areas.
  • Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.
  • Applicant selected for this position will be subject to pre-employment drug testing. Persons occupying a "safety-sensitive” position will be subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing. Post-accident, reasonable cause, and return-to-duty tests may also be required based on specific circumstances.

Nice To Haves

  • 5-7 avionics experience preferred
  • Familiar with the Standard Wiring Practices Manual.
  • Airframe (A) or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License preferred.
  • B1, B1.1, and/or B2 certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate ground support equipment e.g. GPUs, Hi-Reach, etc. as required.
  • Operate test equipment e.g. Pitot Static Cart, Navigation test sets, etc. as required.
  • Help with general clean-up of work area.
  • Accurately clocking to jobs.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Effective and appropriate conduct with coworkers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
