About The Position

Provides support for O, I and D-level tasks in support of Presidential Helicopter platforms in accordance with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP), applicable technical data, and federal contract requirements. Senior-level avionics technician supporting VH-92A, VH-3D, VH-60N, test aircraft and other aircraft periodically hosted by PMA-274. Description: Advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions and incorporating engineering changes. Requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits. Exercises independent judgment in performing tasks such as circuit analyses, calculating wave forms and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers and complex computer control equipment. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. Provides technical guidance to lower-level technicians.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of six (6) years’ experience in the design of instrumentation systems for the collection of test data
  • Shall have experience supporting IPTs and ITTs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential
  • Possess excellent computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Self-motivated and have strong attention to details; be adept at planning and managing resources and meeting milestones
  • Prioritization skills are essential
  • Must be able to work independently and hands-on, yet also possess strong teamwork skills
  • Possess the ability to work well with engineers, technicians, Contractors, vendors, and end-user customers
  • Must have a working knowledge of aircraft instrumentation systems such as those that are designed, but not limited to capture stress and strain, shock and vibration, temperature, position (i.e., aircraft surfaces, landing gear, etc.), noise and pressure measurements
  • 7+ years avionics aviation maintenance experience
  • Must be able to work day, swing or mid shift as required
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing and walking for extended periods, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined or elevated spaces. Requires sufficient manual dexterity and vision to use tools and inspect aircraft systems. Must be able to work in high-noise environments, wear required PPE, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace industry or military aircraft experience desired
  • 5+ years VH-92A, VH-3D, VH-60N or similar aircraft maintenance experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex aircraft maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repair, and modification
  • Document maintenance actions in aircraft logs and approved maintenance systems
  • Lead and provide technical guidance to lower-level mechanics
  • Ensure compliance with Tool Control, FOD, safety, and quality programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Inspect/troubleshoot/maintain/modify avionics and electrical systems
  • Interpret technical manuals, drawings, and directives
  • Troubleshoot and repair aircraft avionics systems
  • Document maintenance actions per NAMP requirements
