About The Position

Provides support for organizational-, intermediate-, and depot-level tasks for Presidential Helicopter platforms in accordance with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP), applicable technical data, and federal contract requirements. This senior-level avionics technician supports VH-92A, VH-3D, VH-60N, test aircraft, and other aircraft periodically hosted by PMA-274. The role requires advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be resolved solely by consulting manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents. Work includes determining circuitry location and density, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, incorporating engineering changes, and understanding circuit interrelationships. The technician exercises independent judgment in circuit analyses, waveform calculations, signal-flow tracing, and use of complex test instruments and computer control equipment. Work may be reviewed by a supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. The technician provides technical guidance to lower-level technicians. The position is full-time and onsite in Patuxent River, Maryland. It requires Top Secret clearance with Yankee White access and a CAC. Compensation is $32.92 per hour plus $5.09 H&W. Employment is contingent upon contract award, funding, background investigation, and clearance eligibility.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least six years of experience in the design of instrumentation systems for collecting test data.
At least seven years of avionics aviation maintenance experience.
Experience supporting IPTs and ITTs.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Self-motivation, attention to detail, planning and resource-management ability, and ability to meet milestones.
Strong prioritization skills.
Ability to work independently and hands-on, as well as work effectively on a team.
Ability to work well with engineers, technicians, contractors, vendors, and end-user customers.
Working knowledge of aircraft instrumentation systems designed to capture measurements such as stress and strain, shock and vibration, temperature, position, noise, and pressure.
Ability to work day, swing, or mid shift as required.
Top Secret clearance with Yankee White access and CAC required.
Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting up to 50 pounds; standing and walking for extended periods; bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined or elevated spaces; using sufficient manual dexterity and vision to use tools and inspect aircraft systems; working in high-noise environments and wearing required PPE; and working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

Aerospace industry or military aircraft experience desired.
At least five years of maintenance experience on VH-92A, VH-3D, VH-60N, or similar aircraft preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform complex aircraft maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications.
Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and modify avionics and electrical systems.
Interpret technical manuals, drawings, and directives.
Document maintenance actions in aircraft logs and approved maintenance systems in accordance with NAMP requirements.
Lead and provide technical guidance to lower-level mechanics and technicians.
Ensure compliance with Tool Control, FOD, safety, and quality programs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
