About The Position

The Avionics/Electronics Technician II performs maintenance including inspection, test, and repair of aircraft avionic/electronic components in an avionics bench repair environment. This role requires adherence to company and FAA-approved manuals and methods, with repairs performed to the component level (e.g., transistor, resistor, capacitor replacement). The technician will also manage computer functions for accurate record-keeping, parts tracking, and cost documentation, ensuring a safe, clean, and compliant work environment. This position demands a strong understanding of electronic and electrical principles, circuit analysis, and the ability to interpret various technical diagrams and manuals.

Requirements

High School Diploma, 2 Year Electronic Degree and 1-2 years of demonstrated relevant experience or HS Diploma and 3-4 years of demonstrated relevant experience.
Competency in repairing electronic circuit testing, troubleshooting, and manufacturing at the component level.
Ability to follow and read work instructions, prints, schematics, drawings, etc.
Strong technical computer system (hardware & software) knowledge.
Hands-on problem-solving style.
Good organizational skills and the ability to support several projects and engineers while balancing priorities and schedules.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate well with employees at all levels.
Self-motivated and self-directed, requiring minimal oversight to meet objectives and timelines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
In-depth knowledge of intermediate to advanced electronic, electrical principles, and circuit analysis.
Extensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical devices such as small electrical motors and actuators, mechanical and pneumatic valves, and AC/DC lighting systems (Computer hardware, circuit boards, microchips and basic programming for our avionics section).
Demonstrable soldering, cable, crimp, and harness (CCH) fabrication skills.
Ability to use common hand tools and precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, depth gages, flow meters, pressure gauges, etc.

Nice To Haves

Good understanding of corrosion control methods and remedies.
Assist with research and development of new repair capabilities. This will include reading and understanding new manuals.
Assists with the maintenance of shop equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

Performs maintenance including inspection, test, and repair of aircraft avionic/electronic components.

Performs appropriate computer functions and provides documentation for maintenance records, parts tracking, and costs.
Ensures a safe, clean and compliant work environment is maintained.
Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
Interprets schematic diagrams, engineering drawings, technical manuals, mechanical drawings and charts of assigned systems.
Works with electrical and mechanical devices such as small electrical motors and actuators, mechanical and pneumatic valves, and AC/DC lighting systems.
Traces signal flow and understands interrelationships of circuits.
Performs soldering, cable, crimp, and harness (CCH) fabrication and understands corrosion control methods.
Inspects components of avionics equipment for defects and accuracy of assembly and installation.
Tests avionics equipment under simulated or actual operating conditions using test equipment.
Adjusts, repairs, or replaces defective components based on analysis of test results, using hand tools.
Calibrates installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications.
Uses common hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
Applies knowledge of the design and function of equipment.
Follows industry/government specific guidelines, particularly as they relate to safety, health and environmental practices.
Assists with research and development of new repair capabilities.
Assists with the maintenance of shop equipment and supplies.
Makes computer entries and completes maintenance documents such as Service Reports and 8130-3's.
