About The Position

GMRE is currently recruiting for an Avionics Aircraft Technician. This position is day shift and may be eligible for per-diem based on GSA.gov standards. The Avionics Aircraft Technician will perform maintenance and must possess knowledge of the electronic principles involved in a number of applications such as radar, data processing, navigation and data display. Interprets and advises on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment. Must have the ability to recommend methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance.

  • Minimum of six (6) years total and two (2) years recent (within 4 years of task order PoP start) experience in aircraft maintenance support on F-16 aircraft as an avionics technician in order to accomplish required follow-on operations.
  • Must have experience working with aircraft wiring, technicians will be installing Avionics system modifications by routing, terminating 10/100 and Gig Ethernet wiring, copper wires, primary power wires, Coaxial wires, shielded twisted pairs/triplets, and possibly triaxial wires/connectors.
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. SECRET clearance and be subject to a government security investigation.
  • For insurance purposes, a valid driver’s license is required.
  • Normal color vision as defined by GMRE, with a passing score of 75% or greater.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Responsibilities

  • Must be knowledgeable of electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles relating to electrical systems, concepts, and application of maintenance directives.
  • Ability to interpret the meaning of symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Must have the ability to properly handle, use, and dispose of hazardous waste and materials.
  • Possess the skill to remove and replace F-16 aircraft parts and accessories/components.
  • Have the skill to make adjustments and settings according to established Technical Data Specifications.
