About The Position

Performs soldering including both through-hole and surface-mount techniques while adhering to J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 workmanship requirements. Carries out PCBA rework, component replacement, and troubleshooting on circuit boards. Identifies and corrects solder defects, damaged traces, and other issues in accordance with established rework procedures. Performs assembly, tear-downs, inspections, and testing of mechanical and electromechanical components and other Line Replaceable Units (LRUs). Reads and understands manufacturing blueprints, wire diagrams, planning documents, and test specifications. Uses hand tools including calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, and multimeters for testing and assembly of PMA parts. Initiates and documents nonconforming materials, hardware, software, tools, parts, assemblies, or portions thereof according to specifications, processes, and procedures. Applies J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 industry standards in all soldering and assembly tasks. Performs assembly, inspection, and testing functions in an aviation production environment. Assists with other functions of manufacturing aircraft parts as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
  • 4+ years of experience in an aviation production environment.
  • Certification in J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 or equivalent industry standards with demonstrated familiarity in applying these standards.
  • Experience with assembly instructions, blueprint reading, and other technical specifications.
  • Basic computer skills including Windows, MacOS, Excel, and Gmail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including overtime as needed.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • 6+ years of experience in an aviation production environment.
  • Experience with Material Review Board (MRB) process.
  • Experience working in a startup environment.
