Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience supporting the FAA, Department of Transportation, or National Airspace System modernization programs.
  • Experience with aviation weather systems including AWOS, ASOS, VWOS, WCAM, weather sensors, environmental monitoring systems, or related airport infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with FAA siting requirements, Airport Layout Plans (ALP), and NAS interface standards, including data flow and systems integration requirements.
  • Experience coordinating remote field site surveys, engineering assessments, or installation activities.
  • Knowledge of airport communications, networking, power infrastructure, environmental systems, and site readiness considerations.
  • Familiarity with FAA engineering, quality assurance, configuration management, safety, and acquisition processes.

  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, action item trackers, risk registers, and technical deliverable schedules.
  • Support project reviews, briefings, status reporting, and executive-level communications.
  • Provide comprehensive engineering support for AWOS weather observation projects, including oversight of pre-site surveys, site investigations, and development of detailed engineering drawings and transmittals.
  • Oversee preparation of complete AWOS engineering packages that adhere to FAA siting requirements, Airport Layout Plans (ALP), and modular scalability standards.
  • Direct engineering design deliverables at the systems level, encompassing vicinity maps, project location plans, site development drawings, grading and storm drainage plans, and equipment pad designs tailored to site-specific conditions and AWOS-C equipment requirements.
  • Ensure site plans accurately depict existing and proposed conditions, necessary trenching for electrical service, and reflect coordination with known concurrent projects, as applicable.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure technical products — including drawings, analysis reports, and implementation packages — are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Support preparation, quality review, and delivery of technical reports, engineering recommendations, requirements documentation, and implementation packages.
  • Track technical issues, project risks, assumptions, dependencies, and decisions through resolution.
  • Maintain traceability between requirements, engineering recommendations, site survey findings, project decisions, and final deliverables.
  • Coordinate technical discussions with FAA representatives, engineering organizations, subcontractors, and installation partners.
  • Support procurement planning by identifying long-lead materials, equipment dependencies, and implementation constraints.
