About The Position

Daher Aerospace in Stuart, Florida is seeking Senior Aviation Sheet Metal Mechanics to join our team. You will be a hands-on mechanic involved with the production and assembly of complex metallic and composite aerostructures helping ensure production and delivery goals are met. 3 plus years experience in heavy structures manufacturing is required.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience as a sheet metal mechanic manufacturing heavy aircraft structures.
  • Ability to follow written, electronic and verbal instructions and work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to use precision measuring instruments to make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work.
  • Able to work from blueprints, sketches, work instructions.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently is required.
  • All applicants must be willing and able to work any shift, including required overtime, as needed. May include evenings and weekends.
  • Employment is contingent on passing the required hands-on plate test as well as verbal and/or virtual skills assessments.
  • Must be able to regularly lift/move up to 30 lbs., occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work on concrete floors, uneven surfaces, and within confined spaces.
  • Requires the ability to navigate open floor beams, climb stairs and scaffolding, kneel or crawl in work areas, and lift, carry, and move parts, materials, and tools as needed.
  • Position requires prolonged performance of drilling, bucking, and riveting activities throughout the entire shift, with additional overtime as required to meet production demands.
  • Requires frequent walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, and sitting during the course of daily work activities.
  • Requires repetitive use of the hands, wrists, and arms while performing job-related tasks.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time throughout the work shift.
  • Must possess the ability to communicate clearly and effectively and have sufficient hearing capability to understand instructions, safety alerts, and workplace communications.

  • Preferably structural assembly on Boeing and Gulfstream products.

Responsibilities

  • Install aircraft sheet metal and composite components.
  • Rework complex structural assemblies.
  • Use precision measuring devices to ensure quality standards.
  • Perform inspections and maintain accurate work records.
  • Work from engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
  • Assemble, and rework structural parts using a variety of essential hand tools -drills, rivet guns.
  • Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, protractors, etc.) to ensure quality standards are being met.
  • Perform inspections and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Read and work from engineering drawings and production specifications.
