About The Position

The purpose of this position is to provide general maintenance and services to the airport. This role involves a variety of tasks related to aircraft, vehicles, landscaping, airfield, and building maintenance, as well as quality control for fuel operations.

Requirements

• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License
• Must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Threat Assessment and 10 year Criminal History Records Check clearances upon employment
• Applicants must meet the City criteria for an acceptable driving record.
• Towing aircraft
• Fueling aircraft
• Maintaining runways
• Testing fuels
• Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

Responsibilities

• Performs aviation work by directing aircraft, fueling and towing aircraft, securing and tying down aircraft, performing aircraft lavatory services, and maintaining cleanliness in aircraft areas.
• Receives, inspects and processes aviation fuel deliveries.
• Provides vehicle maintenance by performing inspections and ensuring proper preventative maintenance on motor vehicles, ground equipment and landscaping equipment.
• Performs landscaping maintenance by mowing and treating grass, repairing fencing, performing trenching, digging, and concrete work.
• Assists in airfield maintenance by maintaining the proper state of runways and taxiways and maintaining proper wiring connections for directional and obstruction lights.
• Performs building maintenance by engaging in remodeling projects and providing janitorial services.
• Performs quality control for fuel farm and refuelers including maintaining daily, monthly, and annual inspections of aviation fuels and providing sampling and testing of tanker truck deliveries.
• Performs other similar duties as required.
