About The Position

FEAM Aero is seeking an Aviation Safety Intern for a temporary, approximately 3-4 month internship position in Miami, FL, running from September 2026 to January 2027. Local candidates are preferred, and relocation assistance is not provided. This internship offers hands-on experience within the Safety Management System (SMS), data analysis, regulatory research, and safety promotion within an aviation maintenance environment.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Aviation Safety, Aviation Management, Occupational Safety, Aviation Maintenance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS).
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Interest in pursuing a career in aviation safety, quality, regulatory compliance, or aviation management.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting FEAM’s Safety Management System (SMS), including hazard identification, risk assessments, safety assurance, and safety promotion.
  • Reviewing and organizing safety reports and assisting with the administration of FEAM’s safety reporting database.
  • Collecting and analyzing safety data for trend monitoring and performance reporting.
  • Tracking safety investigations, corrective actions, and follow-up activities.
  • Researching aviation safety trends, industry best practices, FAA requirements, OSHA requirements, EPA requirements, and other applicable safety standards.
  • Supporting workplace and operational safety inspections.
  • Developing safety communications, including alerts, bulletins, newsletters, presentations, posters, and other promotional materials.
  • Supporting employee safety engagement and awareness initiatives.
  • Assisting with the development of employee safety training.
  • Assisting with the development of Environmental Health and Safety procedures to support OSHA and EPA compliance.
  • Supporting Emergency Response Program documentation, exercises, and preparedness activities.
  • Maintaining Safety Department records, reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Participating in Safety Department and operational meetings, as appropriate.
  • Shadowing Safety and Quality personnel to gain exposure to aircraft maintenance operations, regulatory compliance, audits, investigations, and safety oversight.
  • Performing other safety-related projects and administrative duties as assigned.
