About The Position

GP Strategies Government Solutions is seeking an Aircraft Structures Instructor to support a large aerospace client. This role involves conducting training on a wide range of structures subject matter, including Heavy Structures, Drill and Fill, Fastener Install and Removal, Bond and Ground, and Sealing. This is a full-time, regular position focused on supporting high-impact government missions within the Public Sector.

Requirements

  • Hands-on aircraft maintenance and/or production work on the C-130
  • Knowledge/experience in aviation manufacturing and subassembly manufacturing processes including, but not limited to: Basic drilling concepts to include drill, ream and countersink
  • Drilling on and/or maintaining sheetmetal material
  • Aircraft sealing and shimming, including liquid and solid shim
  • Extensive knowledge in reading and interpreting aircraft engineering drawings and electronic work instructions
  • Electrical bonding prep including the use of bond meters, multimeters, etc.
  • Fastener install and removal
  • Tool Control/Consumable Control
  • Foreign Object Damage Prevention
  • Experience training on aircraft structural components including classroom lecturing and/or coaching/mentoring students in a skills-based lab or detailed On-The-Job (OJT) training environment
  • Presentation skills or training/teaching background/experience
  • Ability to travel 10-15% to surrounding area locations, if needed

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on aircraft maintenance and/or production work on the F-35
  • Composite experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience as an aircraft manufacturing instructor with formal training certifications (Master Training Course, Train-The-Trainer, etc.)
  • Previous personnel management or leadership experience in an aircraft production environment
  • Military aviation maintenance and aircraft production experience
  • Experience using Shop Floor Management (SFM0 software in an aircraft production environment
  • Experience using aircraft power tools (rivet guns, puller assemblies, drills, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct training covering a broad range of structures subject matter including, but not limited to: Heavy Structures, Drill and Fill, Fastener Install and Removal, Bond and Ground and Sealing.
  • Provide classroom lecturing and/or coaching/mentoring students in a skills-based lab or detailed On-The-Job (OJT) training environment.
  • Write, edit, and produce materials for technical instruction.
  • Provide assistance and support to production operations by helping determine training needs.
  • Deliver effective training.
