About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes is excited to offer opportunities for an Airplane on the Ground (AOG) Aviation Maintenance Inspector to join our Field team in Everett, Washington. As an AOG Inspector, you will have the opportunity to travel to various locations, both domestic and international, to perform critical inspections and ensure aircraft compliance with Boeing specifications and safety protocols. Requirements

  • Relevant experience can include academic qualifications, military service, or other industry-related roles.
  • 3+ years of experience in any of the following: Aircraft Delivery, Maintenance Repair, Aircraft On Ground (AOG).
  • 3+ years of experience conducting aerospace inspection.
  • 3+ years of experience with Boeing single body and wide body aircraft models.
  • 3+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings and schematics.
  • 3+ years of experience in reading and interpreting technical publications and/or maintenance manuals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft and Adobe programs.
  • Experience working with precision measuring tools.
  • Ability to complete Fall Protection Training.
  • Ability to work variable shifts; including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
  • Willing and capable of travel both domestically and internationally with short notice and for extended periods, anywhere in the world and for potentially extended periods of time (must obtain and possess current passport).
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of aircraft manufacturing experience associated with Boeing wide/single body aircraft models.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license or currently enrolled full-time or part-time in an A&P certificate program required.
  • Successful candidates for this position must successfully complete the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.

Responsibilities

  • Receive inspection assignments from team leaders or supervisors and review relevant paperwork and drawings to understand inspection requirements.
  • Examine work areas using technical documents such as drawings, Installation Plans (IP), and Work Orders (W/O) to verify airplane and section details.
  • Ensure all inspection documentation, including drawings and specifications, is complete, accurate, and current.
  • Follow maintenance manuals, Boeing specifications, and inspection procedures to verify compliance during inspections.
  • Verify that parts and assemblies meet specifications and are free of defects before installation or use.
  • Conduct detailed inspections of aircraft components, assemblies, and systems to identify discrepancies, defects, or non-conformances.
  • Perform functional and electrical testing of aircraft systems, wiring, and avionics as required to confirm proper operation.
  • Document inspection findings, discrepancies, and rework results clearly and accurately; submit reports to engineering or quality assurance teams.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized inspection environment, adhering to all safety and hazardous material handling procedures.
  • Apply mathematical calculations and use precision measuring tools to ensure accurate measurements of gaps, heights, hole dimensions, and other critical parameters.
  • Maintain required certifications, licenses, and training relevant to inspection duties.
  • Collaborate with management, engineering, quality assurance, and other teams to resolve inspection-related issues.
  • Support Boeing products in the Puget Sound area and at other locations as needed, ensuring compliance with all operational and quality standards.
  • Be prepared to travel with little or no advance notice to support inspection needs at various sites.
  • Accept assignments on any shift, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to team objectives.
  • Use computing equipment to access inspection data, document findings, and communicate effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with other inspectors and team members in a team-oriented environment to ensure thorough and efficient inspections.
