About The Position

The Department of Aviation and Technical Education (AVTE) in the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences at Utah State University is seeking a part-time, Airframe and Powerplant (A/P) Maintenance Assistant, including entry-level position. This position is located at the Logan Airport. The role involves maintaining, repairing, and servicing Utah State University Flight training aircraft, including Diamond DA40F, DA42 airplanes, and Robinson R-22 and R-44 helicopters. The assistant will also help maintain shop equipment, buildings, and related areas to support flight school operations, and assist the Chief of Maintenance with all tasks related to airworthiness.

Requirements

  • Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant license; OR gone or going through a A/P program and working towards getting an A/P license
  • Candidates must provide their own tools (Any specialty tools for specific jobs will be provided by the University).
  • Must be willing to assist with lawn care, snow removal, and other routine tasks to support flight school operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Two-year or four-year degree.
  • Two years of any aircraft maintenance experience working on Diamond DA40F, DA42 (2 liter engines).
