The COMNAVAIRPAC Carrier Engineering Maintenance Assist Team (CEMAT) is looking for experienced Aviation Fuels Mechanic with CVN experience. The person in this role will conduct equipment assessments and repairs, provide training on proper evaluation methods and technical documentation, and verify equipment installations to ensure documentation accuracy. This is a full-time position located in San Diego, CA.

Requirements

  • High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 4 years of related experience.
  • Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
  • Must have shipboard experience.
  • Experience with maintenance and overhaul of Blackmer pumps.
  • Experience with topside fuels operations.
  • Experience with handling hazardous materials.
  • Can read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong computer skills with MS Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal, written and electronically.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET level security clearance, CAC badge and base and ship access.

Nice To Haves

  • US Navy background with at least one tour on an aircraft carrier.
  • Prefer technical/professional certifications.
  • A current or active security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct material condition assessments, troubleshooting and repairs on various equipment throughout the ship.
  • Train Ships Force on proper assessment techniques.
  • Train Ships Force on using technical documentation such as drawings and technical manuals.
  • Validate equipment installed on CVNs to verify APL accuracy.
  • Performs duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment.
  • Performs a variety of complicated and non routine tasks.
