About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Aviation Engineering Intern – Summer 2027 to join our Houston, TX office. This role involves participating in focused training, team meetings, and presenting notes or results. Interns will receive coaching and mentoring to complete assignments or projects and develop their skillset. The intern will collaborate with experienced engineers to assist in the production of engineering drawings for airport and airport-related civil engineering projects, including runways, taxiways, aprons, roadways, parking lots, and supporting infrastructure. Responsibilities also include researching project site conditions, regulatory agency specifications or regulations, and performing field observations of construction where appropriate. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor may also be part of the role.

Requirements

• Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship.
• Math skills to perform simple calculations.
• Willingness to learn.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation

Responsibilities

• Collaborate alongside experienced engineers to assist in various operations production of engineering drawings for airport and airport-related civil engineering projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, roadways, parking lots, and supporting infrastructure.
• Research project site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations.
• Perform field observations of construction where appropriate.
• Perform other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
