About The Position

Passero Associates is hiring a paid Aviation Civil Engineer Co-op/Intern to work with its aviation team in the Charlotte, NC office. The position provides hands-on experience supporting airport planning, design, and infrastructure projects at commercial, general aviation, and military airports. The role uses industry technologies such as drones, 3D visualization, and virtual reality, and offers experience toward a professional career in civil engineering through collaboration with engineers, planners, surveyors, architects, and aviation professionals.

Requirements

Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Interest in aviation engineering, airport design, and transportation infrastructure.
Immediate availability and/or availability through 2027.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to visit active airport and construction project sites as needed.
Passero Associates is not able to sponsor visas.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferred.
Previous civil engineering co-op, internship, or aviation-related experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist with the planning and design of airport infrastructure projects, including runways, taxiways, aprons, hangars, and landside facilities.
Support preparation of engineering reports, calculations, specifications, and construction documents.
Perform field investigations, site inspections, and data collection at airport facilities.
Assist with FAA grant-funded projects and airport improvement programs.
Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to develop plans and exhibits.
Coordinate with project teams and support project deliverables throughout design and construction phases.
