About The Position

The AVI Process Engineer will be responsible for creating and maintaining AVI recipes and processes, monitoring SPC data, and maintaining process control. This role involves investigating yield issues, developing corrective actions, characterizing and optimizing processes, and developing control plans and OCAPs. The engineer will also work on continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, improve process capability, decrease costs, and shorten cycle times. Responsibilities include writing process specification documentation, training Process Technicians, and collaborating with other functional groups to achieve business objectives. The role also entails resolving technical issues across multiple process areas.

Requirements

• Knowledge of general semiconductor wafer processing and engineering practices.
• Knowledge of multiple unit processes.
• Knowledge of engineering statistics.
• Good written/oral communication skill.
• Fluency in MS Office suite as well as JMP or Other statistics software.

Nice To Haves

• GaAs semiconductor processing or optoelectronics device experience preferred.
• Knowledge of semiconductor lasers is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Creates and maintains AVI recipes and processes.
• Monitors SPC data and maintains process control.
• Maintains process step yield and investigates yield issues, developing and implementing corrective actions.
• Characterizes and optimizes processes, developing CTRL plan and OCAP.
• Develops continuous improvement processes and activities to reduce scrap, improve process capability, reduce cost, and decrease cycle time.
• Writes process specification documentation.
• Trains Process Technicians on unit-processes.
• Collaborates with other functional groups (Operations, Equipment Engineering, Process Integration, Design, Supply Chain, etc.) to achieve business unit/organizational objectives.
• Resolves technical issues involving more than one process area.
