The Role AVD Mount Systems DRE The AVD Mount Systems DRE serves as a Design Release Engineer during the Advanced Vehicle Development (AVD) phase for passenger vehicles and light trucks. This role is responsible for developing mounting systems for applications, including engine, transmission, electric drive unit, compressor, body, and cradle mounts, as applicable. The DRE leads mount system development from initial vehicle architecture and concept design through cost estimation, structural analysis (FEA), performance assessment, and provides a sourcing ready design. Candidates must be able to review and evaluate designs and packaging within Teamcenter and work closely with designers and cross-functional teams to develop manufacturing-feasible solutions. During the early phases of vehicle development, the DRE is responsible for guiding the team toward a balanced mount system design that optimizes cost, mass, manufacturability, assembly, durability, and vehicle performance. This role requires strong technical judgment, collaboration skills, and the ability to drive design decisions in a fast-paced advanced development environment.
