About The Position

Lead the Design, Development, Validation and Release activities for Hydraulic Controls Hardware in transmission. Implement Continuous Improvement Projects (Warranty Reduction, Cost Reduction, Capacity Increase, Quality Improvement, etc.) with a cross functional team including suppliers, purchasing, manufacturing, and the assembly plant. Lead and support product issue investigations (Problem Resolution Tracking System – PRTS), continuous process improvements, lessons learned, and quality improvement initiatives. Coordinate on-time prototype component manufacture and delivery for build activities at Pre-Production Operations (PPO) and transmission assembly plants. 15% domestic and international travel required. Hybrid Work Policy - 3 days In-office, 2 days remote - Must be able to report to local office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study and Seven (7) years of experience as a Design Release Engineer or related occupation.
  • Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study and Five (5) years of experience as a Design Release Engineer or related occupation.
  • Five (5) years of experience with: Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA), Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and Stack-Ups; Manufacturing, Validation, and VDDV; Writing specifications and managing suppliers for build to print parts
  • Design in Unigraphics and Catia
  • Quality controls
  • Project management
  • NVH
