The AV Tech is responsible for the daily support of the equipment deployed to community AV spaces, Video Conference Rooms and studio supported tele-conferencing software. The AV Support Technician will provide front line assistance and troubleshooting to the employees of DreamWorks and NBCU. Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025. Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience working and supporting Audio Visual systems and Video Conference Rooms
  • Knowledge of professional audio-visual equipment including video-conferencing codecs, audio processors, microphones, mixers, amplifiers, speakers, TVs, projection systems
  • 3+ years experience with Cisco Video Conferencing Systems
  • Crestron Control operation and programming
  • AMX Control operation and programming
  • 3+ years experience with the below web-based collaboration tools
  • WebEx
  • GoogleMeets
  • MS-Teams
  • Ability to walk to multiple conference rooms/offices throughout the day located throughout our facilities.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional weekends
  • Experience with room/desk booking solutions (Google Calendar)
  • Experience with Digital Signage solutions (ChromeBox/AppSpace)
  • This position is required to be performed full-time from the DreamWorks designated worksite.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school desired.
  • Demonstrate a customer focused approach to support with excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of technical and non-technical employees of all levels.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills coupled with a sense of urgency and ability to meet timelines.
  • Ability to read blueprints and install equipment to specifications.
  • Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) Certification
  • Crestron Core Track Certification(s)

Responsibilities

  • Provide video conferencing technical support.
  • Investigate and raise issues to senior team members when needed.
  • Serve as on-site technical support for cross-site, or executive presentations and events.
  • Setup and operate audio-visual equipment including but not limited to speakers, microphones, wireless microphones, mixing boards, amplifiers, projectors, video cameras, computers, and laptops.
  • Coordinate/perform preventive maintenance room checks.
  • Provide support and problem-solving for rooms, repair or replace broken equipment as appropriate and call out to senior team members.
  • Provide documentation, train end Users on the accurate use of room equipment.
  • Perform equipment, firmware and software upgrades to existing room installations.
  • Responsible for equipment definition, procurement and coordination of office AV installs with third party integrators and requesters.
  • Complete other tasks as needed.
