About The Position

TEKsystems is seeking a strong AV Service Technician to support a national enterprise AV integrator. This is a field service role supporting corporate customers throughout the NYC Metro Area, including New York City, Westchester County, and surrounding Northern New Jersey markets. This position focuses on service, troubleshooting, system checks, software modifications, and control system support rather than full-scale integration work. The ideal candidate will have strong Crestron experience and be comfortable performing programming modifications, troubleshooting control system issues, and supporting executive boardrooms, conference centers, broadcast systems, and enterprise collaboration spaces. Requirements

  • 3+ years of AV field service experience with an AV integration company.
  • Strong hands-on AV troubleshooting skills in live corporate environments.
  • Strong Crestron experience required.
  • Ability to download, modify, and upload existing Crestron programs.
  • Experience using Crestron Toolbox for diagnostics, firmware management, device discovery, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting Crestron control processors, touch panels, DM, and NVX environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot programming, control system, and device communication issues.
  • Ability to navigate DSP platforms for system review and fault diagnosis. Biamp Tesira highly preferred.
  • Experience supporting broadcast technologies, live production systems, streaming platforms, or multi-camera environments preferred.
  • Understanding of AV signal flow, audio/video routing, EDID, HDCP, and common AV hardware.
  • Basic network troubleshooting skills including IP conflicts, VLAN awareness, and basic switch support.
  • Comfort reading drawings, wiring schematics, and system documentation.
  • Professional communication with corporate and executive users.
  • Ability to manage service tickets independently.
  • Calm, methodical problem-solving approach in high-visibility environments.
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Daily travel throughout the NYC Metro Area.
  • Territory typically spans a two-hour radius.
  • Work will primarily take place throughout New York City, Westchester County, and surrounding Northern New Jersey markets.
  • Return home every night. No overnight travel required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting broadcast, streaming, production, or media environments is highly desired.
  • Candidates from TV stations, broadcast facilities, higher education media departments, houses of worship, live production, or similar environments will be given strong consideration.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to AV service tickets across corporate enterprise environments.
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting of AV systems, including control interfaces, audio issues, video routing, and connectivity problems.
  • Download, review, modify, test, and upload Crestron programming changes as needed.
  • Utilize Crestron Toolbox for diagnostics, device discovery, firmware updates, and system management.
  • Troubleshoot Crestron control processors, touch panels, DM, and NVX environments.
  • Diagnose AV-related network issues such as IP conflicts, connectivity problems, and basic switch concerns.
  • Navigate DSP platforms to review configurations, identify faults, and support audio system diagnostics. Biamp Tesira experience is highly preferred.
  • Support AV technologies including: Crestron (DM, NVX, control processors, touch panels), Biamp Tesira DSP, Extron / AMX control platforms, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, Cisco endpoints, AV-over-IP platforms (NVX, SDVoE), Displays, projectors, video walls, and switching systems.
  • Support broadcast and production technologies including cameras, switchers, streaming, and media distribution platforms preferred.
  • Collaborate with IT teams when network-related issues occur.
  • Document all service activities clearly and professionally.
