About The Position

Under direct supervision, this customer-facing position provides installation and support services for the assigned install location. The position interacts with the Logistics Department, Inside Project Manager, department management, and customers; uses knowledge of equipment operation to make independent decisions concerning hardware needed for installation of audio/visual equipment and peripherals, including interactive display boards. This position is safety-sensitive because the employee will be working inside customer locations and security-sensitive because the employee will be install/de-installing inventory.

Requirements

  • Possession of a high school diploma
  • Two years of progressively responsible experience in a job using power tools
  • Basic knowledge of how to perform entry-level installations of audio/visual equipment.
  • Excellent computer and troubleshooting skills.
  • Skills at installing whiteboard equipment require some precision, use of hand tools, and small power tools.
  • Must be able to operate basic test equipment.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain self-composure under occasionally heavy workload and stringent response times and deadlines.
  • Working independently and exercising initiative and judgment.
  • Making decisions within the scope of assigned authority.
  • Assuming responsibility with minimal supervision.
  • Must have own reliable transportation.
  • Must maintain reliable attendance at the work site during assigned hours.
  • Frequent travel to various local worksites is required and, depending on the assignment, occasional travel to out-of-town worksites is to be expected.
  • This is a customer-facing position which requires adherence to the most current version of the Conduct on Worksites policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in a technical discipline such as Audio/Visual Sciences, Computer Science, Information Services, or a related field.
  • Experience in the construction, electrical, and/or audio/visual industry; low voltage experience
  • Experience in the installation, maintenance, repair, and experience of computers and computer peripheral equipment.
  • Certification as a Certified Installer (CI)

Responsibilities

  • Works with a team to perform equipment installs, including cable management, and tests customer audio/visual equipment in classrooms and business locations.
  • Provides customer service support for the assigned project by communicating well with customers; responding to customer calls in a timely manner and understanding customer needs and expectations regarding their Audiovisual installation.
  • Utilizes time for maximum productivity; keeps Department Management informed of project status; provides daily updates in a timely and accurate manner; coordinates with the customer and eBryIT management while resolving any install issues that may take longer than usual; may occasionally perform end of day walk-through with the customer.
  • Manages inventory by accounting for units and any associated peripherals.
  • Uses good business judgment in the usage of hardware to optimize resources and costs.
  • Reports any bad or damaged units or parts in a timely manner to supervisor.
  • Involves project manager in situations not meeting customers’ needs.
  • Outside the peak season, this position will assist with deployments of audio/visual equipment in and around assigned geographical areas. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with laptops and carts installs.
  • Manages administrative paperwork by submitting accurate expense reports, work hour submissions, service reports, purchase order requests, etc., by the required deadline.
  • Displays a consistently positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous, and professional attitude as an essential function of every position.
