AV & Creative Technology Design Intern - Spring 2027
About The Position
The IIT-AV Intern will gain hands-on experience developing and maintaining technology for The Children's Museum of Indianapolis. This intern will assist with opening and closing the building, installing technology in new galleries, and researching and prototyping new interactives. There is a new gallery being installed during this internship, and the main focus will be assisting with the installation and mobilization of that gallery. The Children's Museum is building and sustaining an inclusive culture that encourages, supports, and celebrates differences. Requirements
- Completion of at least 1 to 2 years of college coursework
- PC and Mac experience
- Troubleshooting skills
- Understanding of projectors and lighting technology
- Ability to take direction and work independently
- Open communication skills
- Part-time position, approximately 15 hours per week
Nice To Haves
- Preferred major or field of study: AV-related (audio, video, lighting), Entertainment, or Technology-related
- Previous experience in theaters or live production AV shows preferred, but not required
Responsibilities
- Open the building to ensure all interactives are working
- Brainstorm new gallery interactives and technologies
- Install technology in new galleries
- Create documentation for new gallery builds
- Attend team and project meetings
- Work AV events
- Shadow staff to get hands-on training
