About The Position

Disney Consumer Products (DCP) brings the magic of Disney’s beloved stories, franchises and characters to families and fans around the globe. With a portfolio of renowned franchises including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, 20th Century Studios, National Geographic and Star Wars, DCP is a worldwide industry and category leader delivering innovative products that entertain and inspire. The Retail Creative Intern will be supporting the team who are crafting and producing branded retail design expressions across all franchises. As an Intern, you will focus on creating retail tool kits, style guide development and spatial planning for retail spaces spanning the globe! This is a 6-month, full time, in-person internship in Glendale, CA from January 11th to June 4th, 2027.

Requirements

• Technical proficiency in 3D modeling + rendering skills (Rhino & Enscape) and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
• Proficiency in graphic design; understanding of visual identity and clear understanding of composition, color and graphic design within the built environment
• Hands-on ability to convey design ideas and concepts quickly to team members
• Knowledge of visual merchandising standard processes and presentation
• Strong communication skills, diplomacy, and collaborative spirit
• Standout team-player with flexibility in design approaches & processes
• Ability and eagerness to learn and adapt quickly and work in a constantly evolving environment
• Be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
• Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Possess unrestricted US work authorization

Nice To Haves

• Experience in interior design, retail design, or construction
• Proficiency in Animation and VR software (Adobe After Effects & Blender)
• An understanding of IP and use of characters and storytelling within a built environment

Responsibilities

• Support the creative design and development across all branded retail design experiences spanning the entire portfolio of The Walt Disney Company Franchises – Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, Fox & National Geographic
• Contribute to design development on retail toolkits/style guides across the portfolio of brands
• Assist team with crafting architectural features, branding, signage, fixtures and visual merchandising
• Learn about fashion, market trends & understanding of IP guardrails and storytelling
• Research new materials and fabrication processes, learning about new technologies involved in advancing consumer experiences in retail
• Build strong POV boards for projects; this may include design benchmarking, materials & sketching to convey specific story telling or concepts
