About The Position

IMG Academy's Campus Technology Department is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented AV & Campus Infrastructure Technician to support the physical technology layer across one of the world's premier sports and education campuses. This is a hands-on, field-based role focused on the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audiovisual systems, structured cabling, security camera infrastructure, digital signage, and IP video distribution across a large, multi-facility campus environment. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, takes pride in quality workmanship, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. This individual will work directly under the Manager of AV & Campus Infrastructure and alongside fellow technicians to execute projects, respond to service requests, and maintain the physical infrastructure that powers campus operations.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in AV installation, structured cabling, or a related physical infrastructure discipline
  • Demonstrated proficiency in copper and fiber cabling termination, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of AV system components and installation practices across a variety of venue types
  • Familiarity with IP camera systems and basic VMS platform operation
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, rack elevations, and floor plans
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Physical ability to perform the demands of the role: lifting up to 50 lbs, working at heights, pulling cable in confined spaces
  • Experience in a large campus, higher education, sports, entertainment, or multi-facility environment

Nice To Haves

  • BICSI Installer (INSTC or INSTF), AVIXA CTS, or equivalent industry certification
  • Experience with Axis camera platforms and Milestone VMS
  • Familiarity with digital signage platforms and IP video distribution systems
  • Basic understanding of IP networking concepts as they relate to AV and camera system connectivity
  • Experience using infrastructure documentation tools (Visio, AutoCAD, or equivalent)

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain AV equipment across classrooms, conference rooms, athletic venues, and event spaces, including displays, projectors, audio systems, control systems, and video distribution hardware.
  • Perform routine AV system checks, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting across campus facilities.
  • Support AV setups and breakdowns for campus events, athletic competitions, and special programs.
  • Respond to AV service requests and resolve issues in a timely manner, escalating complex problems to the Manager when appropriate.
  • Assist with AV lifecycle projects including new installations, system upgrades, and end-of-life equipment replacement.
  • Install and terminate structured cabling, including copper (Cat6/6A), fiber optic (single-mode and multi-mode), and coaxial cable, per TIA/EIA and BICSI standards.
  • Perform cable pulls, conduit work, rack builds, patch panel terminations, and cable management across IDF/MDF and campus facilities.
  • Support network drop installations, fiber splicing, and physical layer infrastructure builds for new construction and renovation projects.
  • Conduct cable testing and certification, documenting results and resolving failures prior to project closeout.
  • Maintain organized and properly labeled infrastructure across all campus IDFs, MDFs, and equipment rooms.
  • Install, aim, and configure IP security cameras across campus facilities per approved coverage plans and department standards.
  • Support the Milestone VMS platform, including camera onboarding, basic configuration, and health checks.
  • Troubleshoot camera connectivity, image quality, and recording issues; escalate systemic or platform-level problems to the Manager.
  • Assist with security camera infrastructure projects, including new installs, replacements, and expansions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of camera assets, locations, and connectivity.
  • Install and maintain digital signage displays, media players, and related hardware across campus facilities and athletic venues.
  • Support IP video distribution systems, including hardware maintenance and basic configuration.
  • Assist with content management and scheduling on digital signage platforms as directed.
  • Troubleshoot display and video distribution issues, restoring service in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including cable plant documentation, equipment locations, and as-built drawings.
  • Update asset registers, patch panel databases, and infrastructure records as work is completed.
  • Communicate project status, service request updates, and any issues or delays to the Manager promptly.
  • Collaborate with teammates and cross-functional stakeholders (Facilities, Operations, Athletics) to coordinate access, scheduling, and project execution.
