About The Position

Perform support and specialized tasks for the Auxiliary Services department, including supporting receiving, surplus, inventory, mail services, conference services, and space management areas. This is a part-time position, working 16 hours a week.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Physical ability to perform required work
  • One year of related experience or an equivalent combination of experience in hospitality or logistical support
  • Valid WA state driver’s license
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to operate office equipment, including computers and telecommunication devices.
  • Ability to observe, analyze, and interpret data from various sources.
  • Ability to prepare and present detailed reports, both in written and audible formats.
  • Ability to exchange information with others.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing routine tasks.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to navigate the environments, conditions, and hazards typical of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, track, and distribute parcels, both on and off campus.
  • Count and verify the condition of items received against shipping documents and internal purchase orders.
  • Document and report any issues with the count or condition of items received.
  • Assist with the organization and maintenance of the auxiliary services area.
  • Cross-train to learn all basic functions within auxiliary service operations, with an emphasis on providing backup support to Mail Services, such as the processing and distribution of incoming/outgoing mail and packages.
  • Pick up various surplus items from around campus for sale or disposal, using sustainable practices and maintaining compliance with EvCC policies and procedures, as well as all WA state rules and regulations.
  • Develop and post comprehensive ads for auctioning various surplus items.
  • Coordinate and prepare auction items for pickup with the winning bidder.
  • Palletize and secure various surplus items to be picked up by the state.
  • Assist with the organization and maintenance of the Surplus warehouse.
  • Respond to inquiries from patrons regarding Auxiliary Operations procedures; apply and interpret policies and procedures in response to inquiries.
  • Provide support to the personnel in Auxiliary Services, Surplus, Inventory, Purchasing, and Mail Services.
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of tasks to be completed and the instruction of student and volunteer employees.
  • Use a pallet jack, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental operations and meet the needs of the campus.
  • Assist with moving campus furniture as needed.
  • Provide logistical support for events on campus.
