About The Position

Circuit Stream is seeking passionate Foundation of Medicine & Healthcare Instructors to join their roster for learners aged 13-18. This is an auxiliary (substitute) instructor opportunity for Summer 2026. The course explores the foundations of different medical occupations, how organs and systems work together, and exposes students to industry-standard frameworks and theories. Students will analyze real-world medical cases, interpret symptoms, and develop initial treatment plans through controlled simulations. As part of the instructor roster, you will step in when needed to support students and deliver the curriculum, ensuring an exceptional learning experience. The course is offered at the University of Washington Seattle campus.

Requirements

  • Availability to teach during the day (9:00 AM - 3:30 PM) between July and August 2026, if called upon.
  • Availability to attend 1–2 training days in July prior to teaching.
  • Previous professional experience in health and patient care in a clinical environment.
  • Nursing designation (LPN, LVN, RN, APRN or NP), OR current Medical School student working towards M.D., OR Faculty member of nursing or medical programs.
  • Proficient at evaluating medical data and delivering recommendations for patient’s care.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.
  • Innate logical thinking and the ability to inspire and nurture logical thinking in students.
  • A passion for guiding and mentoring students, fostering their growth, and providing meaningful feedback.
  • Willingness to adapt to evolving curriculum needs, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
  • A collaborative attitude, eager to contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
  • A proactive attitude towards ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn and stay up-to-date with industry advancements.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching, TA or training experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Create lesson plans and lead engaging and comprehensive classroom sessions with teen learners following Circuit Stream's Foundations of Medicine & Healthcare course curriculum (curriculum and Instructor guides provided)
  • Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and mentorship to students as they ideate, develop, and iterate on their final project, a Medical Log Book
  • Showcase proficiency in making treatment recommendations based on symptoms and scenarios
  • Share real-world experiences, case studies, and insights to offer students a holistic understanding of the field
  • Grade assessments that accurately measure student understanding and progress within the course.
