About The Position

The Auxiliary Engineer supports the safe and efficient operation of plant systems and equipment under the general supervision of the Shift Supervisor and direction of the Control Room Operator. The role involves monitoring, inspecting, and operating equipment such as fans, pumps, the baghouse, and the wastewater treatment system in accordance with established plant procedures.

The position may also include operating the refuse crane to mix waste in the pit and maintain proper feed levels in boiler hoppers. This is a hands-on role in a dynamic environment requiring attentiveness, reliability, and a strong commitment to safety. Employees are expected to perform the duties of the role while upholding Reworld's values, including contributing to a safe and inclusive workplace, delivering results through trust, and building breakthrough capabilities.

The role is covered under a Labor Union / Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA); pay rate and benefits are according to the CBA. Level, title, and/or salary may be adjusted based on the applicant's experience or skills.

Requirements

• Prior experience operating heavy industrial machinery or strong mechanical aptitude.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret operational, safety, and training materials.
• Physically capable of working in an industrial environment, including mobility, vision, and hearing.
• Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations.
• Commitment to safety and the ability to uphold Reworld's values.

• Formal technical or apprenticeship training.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, inspect, and operate plant equipment, including fans, pumps, the baghouse, and the wastewater treatment system, in accordance with established plant procedures.
• Perform regular equipment inspections and data logging.
• Report abnormalities or potential issues and respond to them as directed.
• Take independent action when necessary to protect equipment and ensure personnel safety.
• Support emergency operations when needed.
• Operate the refuse crane when assigned, mixing waste in the pit and maintaining proper feed levels in boiler hoppers.
