About The Position

The Autonomous Vehicle Shop Foreman oversees the repair and servicing of vehicles handled by the autonomous vehicle service department. The role directs shop workflow, supports technicians, and ensures repairs are high-quality, timely, and aligned with safety and compliance standards. The Foreman provides real-time assistance with diagnostics and complex repairs, coordinates with the Fleet Service Manager and Team Leaders, and verifies completed work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in an automotive repair facility.
• Strong general mechanical knowledge.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid in-state driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow technical instructions and documentation.

Nice To Haves

• ASE Master certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time support to technicians with diagnostic and complex repairs.
• Review diagnostic outcomes for unfamiliar or advanced repair work before major services begin.
• Collaborate regularly with the Fleet Service Manager and Team Leaders to report productivity and resolve outstanding issues.
• Achieve production and performance standards set by the autonomous vehicle partner.
• Maintain consistent, professional communication with technicians.
• Ensure compliance with warranty materials handling and documentation procedures.
• Enforce shop safety protocols and cleanliness standards.
• Review completed repair orders for accuracy and thoroughness.
• Conduct spot checks to verify repair quality and timeliness.
• Comply with relevant federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous waste disposal and OSHA requirements.
• Follow company safety practices to minimize exposure to chemicals, fumes, and other environmental hazards.
