Overview: The Autonomous Technician is responsible for safe monitoring, operation, troubleshooting, and support of autonomous farm orchard sprayers, and related precision agriculture systems. This role ensures equipment performance, field safety, regulatory compliance, and data accuracy while maintaining high operational efficiency. This is a hands-on field position requiring technical aptitude, strong safety awareness, and the ability to respond to real-time system alerts and field conditions. Must be able to work during day or night schedules. Some travel may be required. Here's what you'll do: Monitor and supervise autonomous orchard sprayers and support equipment Launch and configure field operations using onboard and remote software systems Set field boundaries, geofencing, and task parameters Respond to alerts and intervene manually when required Perform pre- and post-operation inspections Maintain equipment to meet readiness and operational needs Identify and resolve basic mechanical or GPS-related issues Maintain accurate field and equipment logs Ensure safe interaction between equipment and field crews Plan, organize, and coordinate activities pertaining to the Pest Control applications, calibration knowledge required Implement recommended treatment programs to achieve effective, economic control Work at times up to 7 days a week and between 50-75 hours per week Communication with Spray and Ranch Supervisors
