About The Position

Coughlin Pataskala Ford is seeking experienced Used Car Service Technicians due to high volume in their used car reconditioning operation. This position offers competitive wages based on experience, with a compensation program designed to maximize earning potential. The role involves performing specified work on repair orders efficiently, testing vehicle components and systems using diagnostic tools, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing various automotive systems, communicating with Service Advisors about additional needed services and estimates, and executing warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications. The work schedule is flexible, typically around 40 hours per week, with no cap on hours for flat-rate technicians. Service departments are closed on Sundays and operate until 6 pm on weekdays.

Requirements

Current/recent experience as a Used Car Technician: independent shop, tire store, or dealership experience preferred.
Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. routinely, daily.
High school graduate/GED.
Satisfactory employment references.

Responsibilities

Perform work specified on the repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
Diagnosing, maintaining and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed, providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
