About The Position
LEHR Upfitters is a fast-growing company in the motor vehicle manufacturing industry that customizes emergency vehicles to meet the exact needs of first responders. The Automotive Upfit Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that our first responders operate safe, reliable, and effective vehicles. The ideal candidate will have great attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, automotive knowledge, and a thirst for knowledge, and will thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. We will train the right person!
Requirements
- Ability to work with hand and power tools such as screw drivers, wrenches, hand drills, etc.
- Capability to bend, twist, reach, and lift to 50 lbs. without assistance
- Capacity to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong Work Ethic
- Thirst for Knowledge
- Valid Driver’s License
Nice To Haves
- Proven 12V experience
- Ability to read blueprints/schematics
- Aptitude in mechanical, electrical, and electronic components from various sources
Responsibilities
- Removal of factory interior and exterior equipment and parts
- Installation of specialized emergency vehicle Lightbars, Emergency lighting, Push Bumpers, Sirens, Controllers, Speakers, Partitions, Window Bars, Prisoner seats, Gun racks, in-car video, Computers, License Plate Recognition, and much more
- Attention to detail as it relates to job progress and tracking of hours
