Joseph Buick GMC is seeking an experienced and motivated Automotive Transmission Technician to join our busy, state-of-the-art service department. Requirements

  • Proven experience as an automotive transmission technician or specialist required.
  • ASE certification(s) or relevant General Motors training is highly preferred.
  • Strong diagnostic proficiency and comfort using modern scanning tools and reprogramming software.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods and safely lift and operate heavy shop equipment.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Willingness to undergo a standard pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • General Motors experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately identify, remove, disassemble, and perform internal repairs on automatic and manual transmission systems up to complete rebuilds.
  • Perform multi-point vehicle safety and reliability inspections, documenting clear recommendations.
  • Properly document the precise condition, cause, and remedy on all repair orders to maintain high compliance standards.
  • Work closely with Service Advisors, Parts Professionals, and shop management to ensure high shop efficiency and top-tier quality control.
  • Stay up to date with manufacturer repair manuals, technical service bulletins (TSBs), software reprogramming, and individual training requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
