About The Position

Hyundai of Fairfield is seeking a motivated, dependable, and skilled Automotive Technician to join our service department. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship, has strong diagnostic and mechanical skills, and is committed to providing an exceptional customer experience. As an Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of vehicles while following manufacturer specifications and dealership standards.

Requirements

Previous automotive repair experience preferred.
Automotive technical training or equivalent experience preferred.
Strong mechanical and diagnostic abilities.
Ability to use computerized diagnostic equipment and repair information systems.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Dependable work ethic and positive attitude.
Ability to safely lift, maneuver, and work around vehicles and automotive equipment.
All applicants must demonstrate the ability to pass pre-employment testing, including a background check, MVR, and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

ASE certifications and/or Hyundai certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and repairs, including oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, batteries, fluid services, and other preventative maintenance.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems.
Perform vehicle inspections and accurately identify required repairs.
Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Use diagnostic equipment, scan tools, service information, and manufacturer resources to troubleshoot vehicle concerns.
Perform warranty and recall repairs in accordance with Hyundai procedures when applicable.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, diagnostics, parts, labor, and completed repairs.
Communicate effectively with service advisors and other dealership personnel regarding vehicle conditions and recommended repairs.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow all dealership, OSHA, and manufacturer safety procedures.
Stay current with new automotive technology, diagnostic procedures, and Hyundai training requirements.
Complete assigned work within established time and quality standards.
Provide professional, courteous service and contribute to a positive team environment.
