About The Position

The Automotive Technician performs basic vehicle diagnostics and routine vehicle repair and maintenance services according to company standards and manufacturer specifications. The role is expected to provide exceptional 5 Star guest service by clearly communicating vehicle issues and proposed solutions and consistently meeting guest expectations for quality and time commitments. Compensation is flat-rate and performance-based, with technicians earning $25.00–$40.00 per hour based on experience. Pay is based on teammate productivity, with a set amount paid for each eligible task completed. The position may be full-time or part-time depending on business needs, and is an hourly position.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Automotive training in basic car maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Current valid driver’s license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
Own a basic set of tools or participate in the company’s tool purchase program.

Nice To Haves

ASE certification.
State Inspection license, where applicable.

Responsibilities

Perform basic vehicle diagnostics to identify required repairs.
Complete the Courtesy Inspection process for every guest vehicle, documenting and communicating additional needed services and repairs; audit inspections performed by General Service Technicians.
Assist with inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading deliveries, and stocking inventory.
Assist with general store duties and maintain the store in clean, guest-ready condition in accordance with company standards.
Perform services in accordance with company safety standards, including Wheel Torque and oil safety and compliance procedures.
Test-drive vehicles in accordance with the company Road Test policy, using designated routes and following local traffic and safety laws.
Follow company policies and procedures and applicable governmental standards, environmental codes, and ANSI/OSHA standards.
Use required safety practices set out in training, policies, and procedures.
Maintain technical knowledge and proficiency by completing required company training courses and modules on time.
Operate, use, and maintain equipment safely in accordance with company and manufacturer guidelines, including lifts, welders, and brake lathes.
Perform other duties as assigned and required.
