About The Position

The Skilled Technician performs vehicle repair and maintenance as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards. The role builds customer loyalty by developing trust and confidence in AutoNation’s care for vehicle safety and reliability. Technicians perform accurate, efficient work, diagnose malfunctions, conduct multi-point inspections, document repairs, and communicate with Parts and Service teams. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience as an automotive technician.
• Automotive technical training, varying based on store needs.
• Valid in-state driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record that is maintained.
• Attention to detail.
• Organization and follow-up skills.
• Passion for cars and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and maintenance work listed on repair orders efficiently and accurately, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Communicate regularly with the Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
• Diagnose the cause of vehicle malfunctions and perform repairs when authorized by the customer.
• Conduct multi-point inspections and make recommendations to support vehicle safety and reliability.
• Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Maintain an inventory of normal technician tools that are not inventoried by the Service department as special tools.
• Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.
