About The Position

Torque by Ryder is immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Entry Level Mobile Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet in Savannah, GA. This position offers hourly pay up to $28.00 per hour based on experience, a $2000 retention bonus paid quarterly within the first year, and a flexible 40-hour work week with weekend premiums. A fuel card and company cell phone are provided, along with a work site service vehicle for mobile technicians. Ryder provides additional training to help technicians level up their skills. We are looking for a Maintenance Repair Mechanic Technician to join us at Ryder to manage our fleet of Heavy Duty Trucks.

Requirements

• High Diploma or equivalent
• Must have minimum tool requirement
• Ability to understand and communicate effectively
• Ability to work shift work/weekend as required
• Ability to perform all entry level tasks
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computers
• This position requires for you to drive Ryder vehicles.
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

Nice To Haves

• Post-secondary vocational education strongly preferred
• Some experience in transportation maintenance preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs basic vehicle maintenance
• Performs component identification and minor repairs
• Performs preventive maintenance with training and support
• Performs facility maintenance duties
• Perform all entry level tasks
• Diagnoses minor mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
• Performs other related duties as assigned
