About The Position

Swanson’s Auto Service is a full service professional auto repair and preventative maintenance facility that has been providing quality auto repairs & service at competitive prices in the Grandville and Wyoming area since 1981. We are conveniently located one mile south of Rivertown Crossings Mall at the NE corner of 56th & Wilson in Grandville, MI. We are searching for a skilled Automotive Service Technician to work in a clean 10 bay facility that has been family owned and operated for over 45 years. Qualified candidates should have a strong automotive background and be able to quickly & accurately diagnose and repair domestic and foreign vehicles, with a heavy emphasis on driveability/electrical repair. Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic with a strong background in driveability & electrical repair
  • Familiarity with using diagnostic equipment to solve computer & driveability issues is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of automotive electrical systems, air brakes, schematics, shocks & struts, and wiring techniques.
  • Excellent attendance, team oriented & flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive automotive diagnostics to identify issues accurately and efficiently.
  • Execute repairs on various vehicle systems, including powertrain, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, and alignment to keep vehicles in top condition.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete repairs and installations.
  • Collaborate with team members to estimate repair costs and communicate findings clearly to customers.
  • Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used for each vehicle.
