About The Position
Berman Hyundai is seeking motivated and enthusiastic technicians at the Semi-Skilled through Journeyman level to join our dynamic and growing service team! This is a union shop with job security, offering company-paid health insurance, pension, ASE certifications, factory training, tool insurance, and uniforms. Technicians will assist with diagnostic testing, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, work with senior technicians on complex repairs, and perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on Hyundai vehicles according to manufacturer standards. The role involves accurately diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and drivability concerns, completing warranty and customer-pay repairs efficiently with high-quality workmanship, utilizing Hyundai diagnostic equipment, documenting repair orders, maintaining a clean work environment, and staying current with Hyundai training and technical service bulletins.
Requirements
- ASE Certifications
- At least 2 years of experience in an automotive repair or maintenance setting required.
- Enthusiasm for learning and hands-on technical work is essential.
- Ability to work in a team environment, follow instructions, and take direction from senior technicians.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, and a willingness to learn and improve problem-solving techniques.
Responsibilities
- Assist with diagnostic testing and troubleshooting for both mechanical and electrical issues
- Work alongside senior technicians on more complex repairs, including engine, transmission, and suspension work
- Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on Hyundai vehicles according to manufacturer standards
- Accurately diagnose electrical, mechanical, and drivability concerns
- Complete warranty and customer-pay repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship
- Utilize Hyundai diagnostic equipment, service information, and special tools
- Document repair orders thoroughly and accurately
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Stay current with Hyundai training and technical service bulletins
