About The Position

Shively Motors is seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our team in Chambersburg, PA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicle makes and models, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety. This full-time individual contributor role will provide a hands-on approach to automotive service, repair, and customer satisfaction. Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Automotive Technician or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems including engine, transmission, brakes, and electrical
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and software effectively
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive service, repair, and diagnostics
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to proficiently use hand tools, power tools, and specialized automotive service and repair equipment

Nice To Haves

  • ASE Certification is preferred but not required
  • ASE or automotive technical certification(s) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using advanced diagnostic equipment
  • Repair or replace defective parts and systems in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members about vehicle conditions and repairs
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
  • Perform preventive maintenance and service repairs for all types of vehicles
  • Examine vehicles for hazards, defects, and wear and tear to identify necessary repairs
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical components on automotive vehicles
  • Inspect, test, adjust, repair, and service vehicles
  • Perform physical vehicle inspections and repairs on a variety of makes and models
  • Communicate all findings and required repairs with Service Managers
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures
