About The Position

Christian Brothers Automotive is seeking an energetic, upbeat automotive technician/mechanic with a positive attitude and a strong commitment to finding solutions and doing what is right for guests. The technician diagnoses and repairs vehicles across domestic and foreign makes and models, performs accurate and honest courtesy inspections, and works collaboratively with the team and service department to resolve customer concerns and deliver quality results. The shop provides OEM diagnostic and programming tools, factory equipment, and access to live technical support, so technicians do not need to supply or maintain their own scan tools. This opening is at a locally owned and operated Christian Brothers Automotive franchise in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as an automotive technician or mechanic.
• Positive attitude and desire to serve guests.
• Ability to diagnose and repair all makes and models of vehicles.
• Aptitude for learning additional skills and processes.
• Professional appearance and strong communication skills.
• Desire for long-term career development.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds.
• Ability to work with tools on vehicles lifted above the technician's head and in tight spaces.
• Dexterity to use hand tools efficiently.
• Ability to walk or stand for most of the workday.
• Ability to drive manual-transmission vehicles.
• Ability to navigate a computer efficiently.

Nice To Haves

• ASE certifications are preferred; alternatively, a plan to achieve them.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair vehicles for guests.
• Build experience working on a wide range of domestic and foreign vehicles.
• Complete full, accurate, and honest courtesy vehicle inspections.
• Work as part of a team to troubleshoot customer concerns quickly and effectively.
• Follow and promote standards for safety, cleanliness, and organization.
• Communicate customer concerns effectively and work closely with the service department.
• Collaborate with other technicians to solve problems, meet deadlines, and deliver distinguished results.
• Meet or exceed hourly goals.
