Automotive Technician / Mechanic

Car City on 28th Street in Wyoming, MI, is looking to hire a full-time Automotive Technician / Mechanic to join our service department. Requirements
- Two (2) current State of Michigan Mechanic Certifications
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record that meets Company insurance requirements for operating Company vehicles.
- Current or previous automotive technician or mechanic experience in the areas for which certifications are held
- Full-time availability and flexible to work overtime as needed.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and perform physical job duties requiring manual dexterity, flexibility, bending, twisting, and prolonged standing.
- Adequate near vision and hearing ability to safely perform job responsibilities.
- Ability to meet established shop productivity standards.
- Follow safety protocols and training requirements.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
Nice To Haves
- three (3) or more certifications preferred.
- heavy experience is preferred.
- ASE certifications are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.
- Repair/replace/adjust as needed; test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications; follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and/or other potentially troublesome areas.
- Review repair or work orders to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems, and discuss work to be performed & future repair requirements with management as necessary.
- Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services and ensure maintenance meets standards.
