About The Position

This is a paid, 12-week apprenticeship program designed to help individuals build the skills needed to start a career as an automotive technician. It is suitable for those new to the workforce, exploring a trade, transitioning from military service, or seeking a new career path. The program offers the opportunity to get paid while learning a skill, avoid training-related debt, and start a career with potential for growth and increased earnings over time.

Requirements

6+ months of related automotive experience
A valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
Must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.
Must clear a pre-employment drug test. (Note: Cox Automotive does not currently administer a pre-employment drug test for marijuana for this position. However, it is a drug-free workplace.)

Nice To Haves

High school diploma/GED
The ability to drive standard, automatic and electric vehicles
Have attended or currently attending tech/trade school/2-year college with Automotive training program

Responsibilities

Work with a mentor technician for coaching and guidance
Gain familiarity with auto maintenance concepts and practices
Perform basic auto maintenance tech duties, including oil and filter change, fuel filter change, transmission flush and vehicle inspection
Learn to safely use tools and equipment
Maintain a clean and organized workspace
Work as part of a team in a fast-paced shop
Perform other duties as assigned by mentor, supervisor or manager
