About The Position

Hilbish Ford is seeking a detail-oriented Automotive Shop Helper to join our team. An Automotive Shop Helper plays a crucial role in supporting the operations of an automotive service shop. This entry-level position involves assisting technicians and other staff in various tasks to ensure a smooth workflow and efficient repair process. The helper should be detail-oriented, able to follow instructions, and willing to learn about automotive repair processes.

Requirements

Previous automotive, warehouse, or labor experience is helpful but not required
Basic knowledge of automotive tools and equipment
Physical ability to perform tasks that may involve standing for extended periods, lifting, and bending
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities over time
Must pass pre-employment background screenings

Responsibilities

Assist service technicians with routine shop support duties to help maintain an efficient workflow
Retrieve, organize, and deliver tools, parts, fluids, and supplies throughout the service department
Receive, inspect, label, and stock incoming parts and inventory
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized service shop, parts area, and workstations
Wash, vacuum, and prepare customer vehicles before and after service
Move vehicles safely throughout the dealership and service areas as directed
Perform basic shop maintenance tasks, including disposing of trash, cleaning equipment, and restocking supplies
Assist with tire storage, battery handling, and other non-technical support functions
Follow all dealership safety procedures and service department policies
Support technicians, advisors, and management with additional duties as assigned
Participate in on-the-job training and learning opportunities within the service department
