About The Position

At Blain’s Farm & Fleet, the Automotive Service Technician works in the Automotive Service Center, performing a range of automotive services and duties. Work may include customer service, tire repair and installation, wheel balancing, installation of batteries, head lamps, and other basic automotive parts, oil changes, and brake system repair. Additional duties may be assigned, with progressive on-the-job training.

Requirements

• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Have great communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
• Be able to read and speak English.
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be able to work evenings when needed and at least every other weekend.
• Be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.

Nice To Haves

• Prior auto repair experience is preferred.
• Prior retail experience is preferred.
• For Michigan stores, ASE A4 and A6 certifications are required for Tech Level II; ASE A3, A4, A5, and A6 certifications or equivalent Michigan certifications are required for Tech Level III.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service.
• Repair and install tires.
• Balance wheels.
• Install batteries, head lamps, and other basic automotive parts.
• Perform oil changes.
• Repair brake systems.
• Perform other assigned duties, with progressive on-the-job training.
