Automotive Service Technician

About The Position
Diagnose and repair client and dealership vehicles while maintaining positive relationships with clients returning with unsatisfactory work. The role is in an honest shop that values integrity and ethics. The technician works alongside experienced colleagues and may assist in mentoring technician trainees. Compensation is based on experience, and the company offers excellent benefits.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience or training, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Valid driver's license.
Nice To Haves
- Manufacturer certification is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Examine and diagnose vehicles.
- Discuss repairs with the shop foreman or service advisor.
- Communicate additional service requests to the service advisor.
- Plan work procedures in cooperation with the shop foreman.
- Provide labor time estimates to the service advisor.
- Monitor repair time and regularly update the service advisor.
- Adhere strictly to dealership policies on vehicle care and operation.
- Complete stories and/or documentation for client repairs.
- Assist in mentoring technician trainees.
- Attend company and factory training.
- Keep current with factory technical bulletins.
- Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous-waste disposal requirements.
