Experienced Automotive Service Technician/Mechanic
About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Service Technician/Mechanic for our Mercedes-Benz dealership in Anchorage, AK. This is a flat-rate position with opportunities for relocation assistance and a sign-on bonus. We welcome technicians with any brand background who possess strong diagnostic fundamentals, as paid Mercedes-Benz training will be provided starting day one. Swickard Auto Group is a hospitality company that prioritizes people, and Mercedes-Benz of Anchorage serves a significant luxury and Sprinter van market in Alaska, where vehicles are pushed to their limits.
Requirements
- 2+ years of flat-rate technician experience at a franchised dealership.
- Mercedes-Benz, European, luxury brand, Sprinter, or strong domestic technician background.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong diagnostic foundation with a low comeback rate and a quality standard that holds under volume.
Nice To Haves
- XENTRY/DAS diagnostic platform experience preferred.
- ASE certifications a strong plus.
- MBZ factory certifications highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair Mercedes-Benz and Sprinter vehicles across a full range of systems including engine, transmission, brakes, advanced electrical, suspension, HVAC, and beyond, using XENTRY/DAS and OEM diagnostic procedures.
- Perform multi-point inspections and develop accurate repair plans, communicating findings clearly to service advisors to support guest authorization.
- Execute repairs to Mercedes-Benz factory specifications with speed, accuracy, and no shortcuts.
- Document all diagnostic findings and completed work accurately on repair orders.
- Stay current on MBZ technical service bulletins, software updates, and manufacturer repair procedures.
- Perform test drives to validate diagnostic conclusions and confirm repair quality before vehicle return.
